Alexandra Maria Lara (born in Romania) is the Romanian actor and TV host. Her most well-known work is the main character in Rush, Downfall Youth Without Youth Control as well as Rush. Born the only child to Romanian actor Valentin Platareu, Alexandra began her career in show business in the early years of her life. By the time she turned 16years old, Alexandra was able to land leading roles in several television dramas. Following her critically-acclaimed character in the TV film Der Tunnel, Alexandra went on to play other noteworthy roles such as Adolf Hitler's secretary, Traudljunge, as well as the secretary of Adolf Hitler in Downfall. This film received nominations for an Oscar and was a critical as well as commercial great success. The Reader as well as Der Baader Meinhof Komplex were both nominated for Oscars. Through the years, Alexandra has worked in several important international and national productions. Some of these include British biographical films, the British Control Greek Drama film The Dust of Time French Historical Miniseries Napoleon and many others. She also remained member of the jury for the Cannes Film Festival and the Transylvania International Film Festival.
